It was a huge hit in Korea and also in different countries, contributing to the rising Korean wave (Hallyu) at that time. The main cast of the series include Joo Ji Hoon, Yoon Eun Hye, Song Ji Hyo, and Kim Jung-Hoon. The drama was very popular at the time, it had earned over 26% ratings.
On March 5, it was reported that the drama would be remade after 15 years. It will be produced by the same production company that handled the 2006 drama, Group 8. Jae Dam Media, which is responsible for handling the rights and management of the manhwa, and Group 8, reportedly have signed contracts for the remake.
